Why "Bankhar"

The bankhar is Mongolia's native guardian dog — heavy-boned, thick-coated, and bred for one job: to stay with the herd through the night and bring everyone home. It does not chase. It watches.

That is the promise in our name. We are a Mongolian company, based in Ulaanbaatar, and every trip we sell is one we have driven, walked or ridden ourselves.

What we do

We build private and small-group journeys across Mongolia: the Gobi, Khuvsgul, the Orkhon valley, Altai Tavan Bogd, the eagle hunters of Bayan-Ölgii and the Naadam festival. We work directly with the herding families, drivers and guides who host you — no chain of intermediaries taking a margin.

We guide in English and Korean.
